The BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa campus is near the Dambolin airport in Goa. Nearest beach is Bogmalo beach. There are many budget hotels around Bogmalo beach which you could reserve for an overnight stay to reach BITS in the morning.
Suggested items to be taken along:
scientific calculator,
suitcase, pants, shirts, sufficient undergarments to last at least a week, shorts, handkerchiefs, socks, shoes, slippers, towels, napkins, lock and key, scissors, cell phone, phone ear piece, money, single bedsheet atleast 2 Nos., pillow covers, water bottle, battery operated light with fan if possible, extension chord, cap, umbrella, torch (flash light), swiss knife, glue stick, old newspapers (for cupboard in hostel), a good table lamp.

toiletries:
soap case, nail cutter, razors, shaving cream, tooth brush, paste, washing and shaving brush.

Medicines: Paracetamol (Crocin etc), Pudin Hara, Kayam Churn, Boroplus, Homeopathic medicines if used.
Misc: pen drive, iron, alarm clock, clips for clothes.

Sports equipment like badminton racket, shuttle cock etc.

10-15 passport size photos
Keep one copy at home of all documents.

Keep a copy of Demand draft for hostel and mess charges. Although instructions say DD has to be on SBI BITS Pilani Goa campus branch, DD of other banks for Goa are accepted.

For anti ragging affidavit no need to get it on non judicial stamp paper do it online. Details on what to fill is given in joining instructions like name of director, contact number etc.

Once you fill online you will receive as PDF attachments the affidavits for students and parents on e-mail.
Take a print of Student form and Parent form sign it and submit it.

At the gate a map was given with directions on where to go inside the campus. It was the place where the hostel allocation was done. If you know somebody and want him/her as a neighbor then go with him/her for hostel allocation. If somebody can be kind enough to take care of your luggage you can proceed to Bank opening. You can register for a guided tour of campus. Register for next day session only as you would have lot to do on day of registration.
Next is the State Bank of India account opening. Fill in the form and get it attested. The glue will come handy in sticking your photo. Pay cash of 1000 Rs. for account opening do not put too much money as it would take some time for student to start operating. SBI sends some SMS related to KYC which were told should be ignored. The State bank account has to be a single account for student and joint is not possible.

Keep your luggage in rooms lock it and have lunch in either of the two messes A or C.
Submit hostel checklist same day to hostel authorities.
Borkar's open their shop in the hostel. Consider buying:
Mattress, Pillow, strings for clothes, hangers, curtain spring, curtain, bucket, mug, broom, dust collector, dustbin.

From Borkar's super store: shampoo, soap, detergent, clothes washing soap, shaving gear, naphthalene balls

In the mess telecom companies Idea and Vodaphone were there. General preference was for Vodaphone for sim cards. Activation takes at least 24 hours.

During registration process ensure you submit option form even if you are not locking campus. You also need during registration some personal details about parents like names, e-mail ids phone nos and income. No proof of these are required though.

It would help if student has an account in his or her name as the SBI account takes some time. There is an HDFC bank ATM also available in the shopping complex.
The book store at the shopping complex only offers discounts and no buyback schemes. Buying books from Seniors is a very good option.
